Исправить ошибки

  • Task 4. Identify the sentences with a mistake and correct it. There are two sentences which are correct .

    2. Critically he studied the article on transgenic food production.
    3. Elaborated will be in this paper the model of corrosive destruction of metals under lacquer-paint coating.
    4. The teacher asked the students if they knew the health effect of insecticides.
    5. The premises of the library is cleaned every day.
    6. Twenty dollars are not enough to buy this book.
    7. Many mathematical symposiums are held in Europe every day.
    8. Either the journalist or the witness know the truth about this mysterious event.
    9. This extremely new Ukrainian historical novel has been favorably reviewed. 10. In no case the work will be terminated on the project.

  • Предложения 4 и 7 выглядят правильными.

  • 1 come, 5 are 6 is, 8neither, nor, остальные на порядок слов в предложении.

  • Я думаю, что в предложении 8 мы все-таки оставим выражение either...or..., но вместо формы KNOW дадим форму KNOWS.

    В предложении 9 с порядком слов вроде бы все в норме. Но лично меня смущает сочетание extremely new historical novel. Мы либо меняем extremely на другое слово, либо вообще убираем его из предложения.

  • This new Ukrainian historical novel has been reviewed extremely favorably

    Просто переместить, оно, как very , употребляется.

  • Пожалуй, да, так можно было бы сказать, если бы не...
    Это мне лично напоминает increasingly difficult.
    Кстати, подобные выражения речи постоянно встречаются в материалах ЦТ в Беларуси.
    ЦТ---это наш аналог ЕГУ в России.

    Интересная информация:

    Мы обычно используем extremely –крайне, very - очень и др. с градальными (которые употребляются в степени сравнения) прилагательными и absolutely - абсолютно, completely – полностью, и др. с неградальными (которые не употребляются в степенях сравнения) прилагательными. Здесь более наречия, как и эти прилагательные, которые обычно вслед за ними:
    + gradable adjective
    extremely...effective, difficult, hard
    dreadfully...angry, disappointed, sorry
    hugely...entertaining, enjoyable, successful

    ---Примеров можно было бы приводить огромную массу.
    Что интересно? Интересно то, что после слова EXTREMELY обычно следуют прилагательные или причастия 2. И только в одном случае я увидел это слово в сочетании с наречием. Это EXTREMELY WELL.

    Что касается примера из предложения 9, то я бы лично вообще убрал слово EXTREMELY из него.
