    2. might vary---мог бы изменять эту величину...
    3. could have signed---могли бы подписать...
    4. wouldn`t use---чтобы вы использовали бы...
    5. should have chosen---следовало бы выбрать профессора N
    6. were---как если бы они были... В этом предложении можно обойтись и без частицы БЫ---Нельзя говорить о частицах и волнах, словно они представляют собой две разные вещи.

    Что касается перевода, то во всех предложениях нужно использовать глагол с частицей БЫ.
